After and before
On July 25, I took Spirit to Bark Avenue for grooming. I have never had a dog groomed before. Our last two dogs were Labs with smoothish coats that didn’t need much attention. They got baths in the bathtub or showers outside under the hose if they rolled in something. (The worst thing Taffy, the yellow Lab, rolled in was a long dead porcupine. She not only stank, but was stuck with quills I had to pull out.)
Spirit is an Alaskan malamute with a long outer coat and thick wooly undercoat. I brush her every day, but this sping, the undercoat kept on coming. Little drifts of it collect under furniture. So, I asked Paul Yule of Bark Avenue for an appointment. Spirit came out of the bath and blow dry more beautiful than ever. I hope she’s more comfortable, too, without all that loose fur.
